Snapshot of a TMC Solution
The architecture of your TMC system may include TMC turnkey appliances purchased from TrafficVision, or it may include Virtual Machines running the TMC software. Both snapshot scenarios are pictured separately below.
Turnkey Appliance(s) and Software
A complete TMC turnkey appliance(s) and software solution includes the following components:
Video (live or recorded) from traffic monitoring cameras A computer network At least one TMC or TMC Remote computer appliance The TMC Web Application

Virtual Machine(s) and Sofware
A complete Virtual Machine (VM) and software solution includes the following components:
- Video (live or recorded) from traffic monitoring cameras
- A computer network
- At least one VM configured to serve as a TMC Aggregation Node (TAN)
- The TMC Web Application

Account Types
The TMC Web Application provides three types of user accounts:
- An admin account can:
- Access all settings and functionality in the TMC Web Application
- Create accounts for other TMC Web Application users
- A user account can access settings and functionality assigned by a user with an admin account. This enables organizations to:
- Customize user access levels
- Differentiate user access levels according to work roles
- An external service account polls real-time data (as json files) from the TMC Web Application for other programs or services, but it is not authorized to access any interface settings or functionality.
Snapshot of the TMC Web Application
The TMC Web Application enables users to connect, configure and analyze video (live or recorded) from traffic-monitoring cameras:
- If cameras already exist as individual nodes on your network, the Web Application host can receive their video feeds through its Ethernet connection.
- On some TMC Remote models, the Web Application can receive video feeds from one or more cameras attached directly to the system.
- The Web Application can analyze video recorded to computer files.
The TMC Web Application shown below has been configured with 48 cameras running through an installed TMC system or Virtual Machine.
