Wrong Way Detection Best Practices
Best Practices for Wrong Way Detection
- Camera view should not change. Moving the camera and changing the camera view will affect wrong way detection and potentially create false positives.
- Place camera facing an off ramp.
- Normal flow of traffic should be moving away from the camera.
- Camera view should be focused at the off ramp with no obstacles obscuring the view.
- Triggering an external mechanism (sign, signal, etc) requires an edge computing device to control the mechanism.
Below are examples of views well suited for wrong way detection.
